The YRNF leadership believes that significant victories across the United States for Republican candidates Tuesday evening represented the American people's belief in conservative ideals. Tuesday's Republican Victories in Virginia and New Jersey took on additional importance for the Young Republican National Federation, Inc. (YRNF). Last month, the national organization of Young Republicans helped to recruit dozens of volunteers from cross the county to travel to these battleground states and campaign for the GOP candidates. "Last night's victories are a sign that the American people don't agree with the policies of President Obama's Administration and the present Congressional Democrat leadership", said Audra Shay, Chairman of the YRNF. "We view the outcome of the races in New Jersey and Virginia as clear signs that the political climate in this country has changed significantly over the last 12 months. Republicans selected two great candidates which we were happy to help with focused support and volunteer deployments and are thrilled by their historic victories last night", she continued.
Exit polls in key states showed that the top issues with voters this election were jobs, taxes, corruption and the economy. "The election of our candidates this year shows that the voters don't believe in the big government, over-reaching, Democrat policies of the current Democrat leadership", said Brandon Davis, Communication Chairman of the YRNF. In Virginia, there was a 27-point swing from the previous election to drive the Republicans to a landslide victory for the Republican candidate, Bob McDonnell, despite assistance from the Obama Administration for the Democrat candidate In New Jersey, a typically Democrat state, the Republican victory is devastating to the current Democrat leadership. In this state in particular, President Obama campaigned for the Democrat candidate and put his own political capital on the line. "I think it is clear referendum on the Obama Administration and the Democrats", said Chairman Shay. "Democrats need to understand that the American people are very uncomfortable with their current liberal policies. If they fail to start reaching across the aisle to develop truly bipartisan, center-right policies that Americans want, then I think we are going to see a repeat of last night this time next year", she continued.
About the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF): The Young Republicans (YRs) are the oldest political youth organization in the United States. A critical part of the Republican Party, the YRs reach out to registered voters, 18 to 40 years of age, and provide them with better political knowledge and understanding of the issues of the day. Since its creation, the YRNF has established itself as the premier Republican grassroots organization in the nation, providing essential grassroots support for Republican candidates and conservative issues on the local, state and national levels. The YRNF has a solid record of producing future Republican Party leaders - including Governors, Senators, Congressmen, nationally recognized campaign consultants, and community leaders. Through recruiting, training and mobilizing people, the YRNF presents an opportunity for ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Through community involvement in political issues, charitable projects and participation in political campaigns, YRs work to improve the world in which we live. While the YRs are best known for political activism and service to our communities, YR events also provide a great opportunity for interaction amongst membership. This interaction allows for the exchange of ideas, networking, and friendships that will last a lifetime. The YRs provide different opportunities for different people. No matter what your long-term goals may be, the YRs serve as the building blocks for a successful future.
